UCP Health Center
2008
Central Islip, New York
Designing a space that not only accommodates individuals who utilize wheelchairs, but actually offers them fully accessible, specialized treatment, requires a complex analysis of programming and design.

Through constant conversations between doctors and other healthcare professionals, as well as with patients and their families, the building’s primary focus has always been to provide a space that celebrates UCP’s philosophy to provide exceptional comprehensive health care that is easily available to all people regardless of their abilities.

Complexities in the program necessitated the Health Center to be broken down into separate zones; ranging from areas of utmost privacy to spaces of complete public transparency.
